The mythology created here is great multi-layered and plenty of room to grow through a series. Ms. Bast hasn't reinvented the wheel here, but has blended just enough innovative ideas into some basic paranormal concepts to create a nice new world. I'm not jumping out of my skin waiting to read the next book, but I will enjoy it when I do get to it. I'll save it for that rainy afternoon when I need a little edgy comfort.
Bottom line: satisfying read and a sigh of relief that I have another series to rely on for that paranormal romance fix.
