The resolution of this whole thing is pretty much a constant barrage of the same scenes (beginning with the original 1983 Todd Wilkins phone call from Double Love where Jessica lied about Lizzie not being available) told from differing points of view. This is how Lizzie remembers it, this is how Jessica remembers it, this is how Todd remembers it and we as readers get to not only remember it, but cringe in awe over the realization that we actually STILL HAVE THAT BOOK DOWN IN THAT BOX IN THE BASEMENT.
So eventually Lizzie travels back to California to attend her Grandmommy's Birthday dinner and the you know what hits the fan between the twins. Words are exchanged. Harsh words. And it all hangs in the balance: Is this truly the end of the Wakefield twin relationship? Ah, I'm not going to tell you, read it for yourself.
And of course, since the good girls always need to come out okay in the end, Elizabeth herself miraculously finds her own happily ever after with somebody that you'd never ever in a zillion years have placed her with -- back in 1983 that is.
And mix in with all this a whole bunch of updates from a whole bunch of characters from the Sweet Valley Universe, some of whom I barely even remember. Find out what's up with Enid, Cara, Robin, Lila, Ken Matthews, Winston, and a huge ol' zinger about Steven Wakefield.
This book is absolutely only for those of you like me, the ones that just want an hour or two to re-visit our 1980 glory years no matter how stupid and lame they might be. Anybody else, stay away because really I can't even begin to tell you what embarrasses me the most. That I bought this? Or that I actually enjoyed it?
