A Vampire's Vindication by Alexis Morgan is truly a Nocturne BITE. The premise is interesting, the characters are captivating, and the world building is great. The only problem this story has is that it is too short. Because of the shorter length of this story nothing was developed as much as it should have. The main characters had good chemistry, but because it was not developed well everything seems rushed. The plot could have been an outstanding suspense story but again was rushed and turned somewhat predictable. This was a shame because the story ended up being ok, when it could have been outstanding if given a longer length. Still, I can see this novella being a teaser to future stories. The secondary characters introduced in A Vampire's Vindication have a lot of potential for full length novels. I love Alexis Morgan and have read many of her books including her entire Paladins series, her entire Talions series, and most of her vampire books. She is a fabulous author. World building is one of her strengths as well as creating memorable characters. In this story you can see hints of what she is capable of. I wish she would have chosen to make this particular story a full length paranormal romance suspense, since she had more than enough material to do so. The bottom line: the story is good, but could have been great. I recomend it, but be aware that this is not Ms. Morgan's best work. The story length hampered the story.
