From the back cover: With her wedding to Mr. Right only two weeks away, Hannah Gilmore had more on her mind than traveling to a ghost town. Yet there she was, driving her widowed mother, an incontinent poodle, and a bossy nurse through a torrential downpour. And just when Hannah thought the trip couldn't get any worse, she turned down a road that led her back to the days of Canada's gold rush--and into the heated embrace of Mr. Wrong. Logan McGraw had every fault that Hannah hated in a man, and the modern-day beauty had no intention of falling in love with the frontier saloon owner. So why did her merest glance at the handsome stranger kindle a flame that threatened to burn out of control? Whatever the reason, after one scorching kiss, Hannah swore that nothing would stop her from sharing with Logan a passion that was far more precious than Yesterday's Gold. And my review: As time-travel romances go, this one was about average. The whole time-portal thing (whatever it is) is not explained very well, and didn't really give a compelling reason for why the characters were able to travel back in time. Not a major complaint, but a complaint nonetheless. I found Hannah to be abrasive and annoying. There wasn't much to like about her. And Logan was a man ruled by his sex organs. Grrr. I read romance for romance, not for lust fests. I need more of a motivation than sexual attraction to cheer a couple on. Hannah realizes that her fiance is not right for her because she was marrying him for security and companionship. The alternative? Lust with Logan. As if that's enough to build a lifetime on. What about true love? This could have been an enjoyable read, but there just wasn't enough real romance in it to satisfy me. This is the kind of book I would recommend reading only if you have nothing else to read.
