Abcde was born just like any other baby, at a normal hospital, to normal parents, with the help of normal doctors and normal nurses and she came into the world at a normal weight, size and color. Her birth was completely ordinary, which pretty much belied the rest of her life.
When Abcde was in the 1st grade, she reached the first of many milestones; she created a mortal enemy. Actually, Abcde would argue that this enemy created herself, though it was never exactly clear how she could be solely to blame. Abcde (who by this point in her life had realized that Abcde was a ridiculous name and who had therefore begun to go by Zelia on the basis that it was equally ridiculous but at least she’d been the one to choose it) was at school that fateful morning. It was the morning her gift arrived, although it wasn’t until much, much later that she realized that little coincidence.
