Web 2.0 Evolution into The Intelligent Web 3.0: 100 Most Asked Questions on Transformation, Ubiquitous Connectivity, Network Computing, Open Technologies, ... Databases and Intelligent Applications By Daniel Harris * Publisher: Emereo Pty Ltd * Number Of Pages: 152 * Publication Date: 2008-09-18 * ISBN-10 / ASIN: 1921523646 * ISBN-13 / EAN: 9781921523649 Product Description: Web 3.0 is a different way of building applications. Web 3.0 will ultimately be seen as applications which are pieced together. There are a number of characteristics: the applications are relatively small, the data is in the cloud, the applications can run on any device, PC or mobile phone, the applications are very fast and they're very customizable. Furthermore, the applications are distributed virally: literally by social networks, by email. You won't go to the store and purchase them. Web 3.0 delivers a very different application model than we've ever seen in computing. Web 2.0 is well documented and talked about. The power of the Net reached a critical mass, with capabilities that can be done on a network level. We are also seeing richer devices and richer ways of interacting with the network, not only in hardware like game consoles and mobile devices, but also in the software layer. You don't have to be a computer scientist to create a program. We are seeing that manifest in Web 2.0 and 3.0 is a great extension of that, a true communal medium, the distinction between professional, semi-professional and consumers will get blurred, creating a network effect of business and applications. This book that is highly recommended if you are looking to take your business to the next level of the social web: a place where being social is not merely an option but a requirement. Summary: Mash Up Rubbish Rating: 1 Sorry, but this book is simply a mash-up of mostly nonsense which I suspect has been harvested off the internet. I bought it expecting some insights into Web 2.0 but I was disappointed. "Daniel Harris" or whatever the author(s) name is has got to be fake. The grammar and writing is so bad I suspect that "Daniel" is a second rate IT major in a developing country who creates spam in his spare time. Prove me wrong... I can't believe I wasted money on this. Instead, buy Don Tapscott's excellent and well written book called "Grown Up Digital". It's much better. There's better information on Web 2.0 on wikipedia and related sites.
