For some reason I never read a book by Follett before, but this won't be my last. I did enjoy the book. There were a lot of plot twists that kept me reading and the scientific premis behind it is chilling. I did have to grit my teeth over some of the political undercurrents in the book, i.e. all consevatives and Christians are evil and liberals will save the world. I did not like Jeannie either, finding her to be a bit arrogant and cold, the proverbial super woman who has looks, athletics, brains, and tough girl mentality-not to mention the nose ring.
I would characterize this as a lighter reading suspense book that does the job. I will try more of Follett's books.
