I like Brenda Joyce's plots and the stories are pretty good. This one took me longer than usual to read though. I have only read this book and The Masquerade so far in the De Warrenne Dynasty. I love the families but so far in both books they have characters that have always gotten their way and are never really chastised or punished for their rash behavior. In this story I pretty much hated Elle through the whole book. She didn't care for anyone else but herself. I understood at times she had a right to be mad at Sean but 99% of the time she was selfish mad. She never listens to anyone. She follows Sean his whole life and I don't see how he could fall in love with her after being annoyed to no end with her constantly throughout his childhood. It was somewhat weird with the stepsibling love even though you know they aren't related by blood. Overall the story is a good one if you can get past Elle's bratty manner and the stepsibling match up. I gave this a three star because it's a great read plot wise but Elle just ruined most of it for me.
