Atomic physics serves to motivate the discussion; molecular, solid-state and nuclear physics are omitted. This is NOT a textbook: it offers neither exercises nor mathematical proofs; instead, the author aims to convey clearly his understanding of major quantum concepts and the evolution of those concepts. The book assumes a familiarity with college-level mathematics and quantum mechanics, so this book would serve better as a review than as an introduction to the subject. For anyone who has taken a course in quantum mechanics and is still dazed, I recommend this book to clarify those confusing lectures.
