If you are at all interested in the undead, or Si-fi, or even short fiction in general you should give this a chance. Other reviews are right about the extreme adult nature of a lot of these works, so if you are easily offended you might want to stay away.
It seems as though Adams tried to bring as many different takes on the zombie story to the table as possible instead of going for the all out scare. Joe R. Landsdale's "Deadman's Road" was the only one I found frightening and suspenseful. Kelly Link's "Some Zombie Contingency Plans" and Hannah Wolf Bowen's "Everything is Better With Zombies" seamed very strange and out of place to me. They may just be allegories for things that I missed. I did not care for "Less Than Zombie" either. However, I enjoyed this book for the most part. The Stephen King story was new to me, and the one original story is very good. My favorite in the collection is defiantly Darrell Schweitzer's "The Dead Kid." It captures the everyday adventure aspect of being a child and gives you chilling sense of evil that lurks in the world. It is just a great story that I enjoyed a lot. "Prairie" by Brian Evenson and "Calcutta Lord of Nerves" by Poppy Z. Brite are two very original works that had me returning to them for second looks.
