This is a long book but a book that never loses focus. I enjoyed the globe trotting hero as he unraveled the outcomes of a past clendestine operation. The language was masterful and the plot was well-developed. I had only wished the author would had woven some of the last details into the plot at an earlier time. While mysterious, when all was said and done, the events were pretty straighforward in a sequence that made sense. I found the peyote culture, the effects of the drugs, and the appearance of a spectre a little unbelievable and detracting from the cunning and intelligence of the characters, but all-in-all a good read I would recommend to those enjoying suspense and action.
