One beef I have is that the book suffers some from lack of enough character work. Of Kendall's circle of pals, only her best friend Celia comes across as truly distinctive. Kendall's other gal pals blur into each other, and their respective boyfriends get even shorter shrift. Unless you've read the prior books, you wouldn't know that Becca used to be this goth girl with a bit of an attitude.
GHOST HUNTRESS: THE DISCOVERY offers several epilogues, one which gives closure to Kendall's search for her father, another which opens up a future story arc, and a final one which drops a swerve and produces one of them "Oh snap" moments. Keep 'em coming, Marley Gibson.
