Product Description: I recommend this book. The author does a great job describing the dangerous Athas desert, where everything is adapted for survival in a harsh and unforgiving environment. The only thing saving inexperienced Jedra and Kayan is their innate powerful psionic talent. Unlike the Tribe of One series, though, the powerful power doesn't make our protagonists invincible since they can't finely control it, and sometimes they cause more problems than they solve with it. Aware of this limitation, they plan to seek out a psionics master for training, but they have to get through the desert first...
Between the adventure through the desert and the relationship between the main characters, this book is great. It takes a strange twist with the discovery of some crystals that have a big role in the story, though. And I would have preferred a stronger ending.
