The Cure - British musical rock band formed in Crawley (born Crawley, Sussex, England) in 1976. Throughout its existence the group has repeatedly changed. Only Robert Smith, being the frontman, vocalist, guitarist and composer, is the only permanent member, as well as its founder.
With the beginning of his artistic career in the late 70's, recording his first single «Killing an Arab», and later by their debut album Three Imaginary Boys (1979), which was released during the boom of post-punk and new wave in the UK, which came replaced by punk rock. In the early 80's The Cure recorded nihilistic, dark and full of tragic work, gradually moving from post-punk to gothic rock. After the release of Pornography (1982), the continued existence of the group was uncertain. Robert Smith decided to drop the voltage and record the light focused on the pop scene songs.
