The Charming Quirks of Others is another philosophical novel from Alexander McCall Smith. If you are unfamiliar with McCall Smith's books, you should know that there isn't a lot of action in them. Some people might consider this book as well as the others by McCall Smith slightly boring but I am not one of those people. I love that his books are about everyday situations with fairly normal people. I love the Scottish setting, the Scottish people and the Scottish voice that comes out in these books.
In this book, Isabel continues to run the Review of Applied Ethics, raise her son, and help those that come to her for her wisdom and kindness. Meanwhile, she deals with relationship issues, helps her niece run her deli, and discovers the source of an anonymous letter, all without much trouble.
