Another story from this great series that did not disappoint! Mike Foster lived in a small town where he owned a very successful diner. Him and his brothers had chosen the town to start fresh and become the best people they could be after a very difficult life as youngsters. He was happy doing what he loved best, cooking, working extensively, being around his family and children his brother was fostering. One day he received a call from his estranged father's lawyer telling him he was the guardian of his half brother. His life changed completely at that point because Brian was an eight month old baby. He would have to be a father to his brother and he was not sure what to do. Allie took a break from medical school to re-assess what career she wanted to take. She has always wanted to be a doctor, but after a semester in school, she knew it was not the career for her. She goes back home and ask Mike for her old job back as a waitress. Mike has not seen Allie in a long time and was surprised to see how she had matured and what a beautiful woman she had become. He was feeling extremely attracted to her, but didn't know what to make of it. Allie didn't expect to be excited to see Mike again, he was after all, just a friend. When Mike comes home with the baby, Allie volunteers to help and so she was named the nanny. Spending time with the baby and with Mike, her favorite two men, became her favorite thing to do. She falls in love with both Mike and the baby but knew it was wrong because soon she would be leaving to focus on her career. She leaves them behind, thinking its the best she can do for them. This story was so heart warming, it was nice to see how Allie & Mike were slowly falling in love with each other and bonding over their love for Brian. There were secondary characters that added to this story, making it more fun and amusing. It was a very cute story, made me smile and cry at times. Quick read on a cold and rainy day!
