SaaS 100 Success Secrets - How companies successfully buy, manage, host and deliver software as a service (SaaS) By Gerard Blokdijk * Publisher: Emereo Pty Ltd * Number Of Pages: 176 * Publication Date: 2008-01-21 * ISBN-10 / ASIN: 0980471648 * ISBN-13 / EAN: 9780980471649 Product Description: There has never been a SaaS manual like this. 100 Success Secrets is not about the ins and outs of SaaS. Instead, it answers the top 100 questions that we are asked and those we come across in forums, our consultancy and education programs. It tells you exactly how to deal with those questions, with tips that have never before been offered in print. This book is also not about SaaS's best practice and standards details. Instead it introduces everything you want to know to be successful with SaaS. Summary: Did not make head or tail of this book Rating: 1 this guy seems to have picked a nice title and repeated the defination of SaaS over 99 times. a very strange book will not recomend this is at all. Summary: The Worst Book You'll Never Read Rating: 1 Wow. This is absolutely the biggest waste of paper that I have ever seen. The other 1-star reviews are completely accurate. The "author" and Amazon should hang their heads in shame. Summary: A book written by a computer?? Rating: 1 I've never read a book like this. It is VERY strange. The same ideas are repeated over and over in various ways and in various contexts. It is not complete non-sense, but at the same time it does not make much sense either... And some parts are very weird. For instance this is page 154: "When people go online and type SaaS Wikipedia, they are greeted with several results. Wikipedia is an online, web-based multilingual encyclopedia project that is accessible to anyone who has an online connection. Wiki means collaborative while the pedia part is from the word encyclopedia. (...) As mentioned in the first paragraph, SaaS Wikipedia will give an individual several choices about the term SaaS. If a person types SaaS Wikipedia, he will be shown a page containing different article about SaaS. There is a place called SaaS in Switzerland and inside SaaS, there are 5 communes and valleys that contain SaaS." and so on... I'm pretty much convinced that this book was written by a computer program, a probably very advanced artificial intelligence system like those of the Cyc project or Wolfram Alpha. It is probably part of a massive and clever experiment looking at how far a computer generated text (book) can fool humans, both individual readers and social system like sites specialized in evaluating, promoting and selling books). Summary: ??????? Rating: 1 This book seems to me a digest of individual newspaper articles on just about any topic of SaaS. There is no real analysis or even any understanding about what SaaS is. The motivation in writing appears to be simply that this is a hot topic right now. There's little in print. Your best bet is to Google SaaS and check out sites that have a full range of electronic materials covering managerial, development and current trends. Summary: SaaS success secrets Rating: 5 The best way to learn about SaaS development is to get your feet wet and give it a go. It won't be long after initial launch before customer feedback will roll in and help you modify and adjust until your service meets the requirements of the market.
