Play of Passion delivers the "devour it in one sitting" thrills that one hopes for from a Psy-Changeling book. The romance is wonderful - we're introduced to it early on, and the dance between desire and self-protection is well-described and feels realistic. The world building continues. We get more than just a glimpse of the SnowDancer wolves and Hawke, their alpha, becomes more than just a figurehead. And, the interplay between Psy and Changeling continues to evolve, moving beyond the personal level to a more macro societal level.
Over the course of these novels Nalini Singh is building an epic story with stops in-between to enjoy the characters of the world.
Play of Passion is a strong offering in the series - one with a great romance between an interesting couple and a background story that continues to move the franchise forward. I'm glad I stayed awake to finish this one!
