I've read most of webers military fiction and this is by far his most dissapointing. he generally sticks to harder science in his novels but in this one he obviously wrote himself into a corner and had to switch to a different genre entirely to get out of the bind he created. to create the obligitory happy ending he had to drag in dracula and his vampire assistants. he had vampires oozing through door locks and seals as smoke tp enter the control rooms of the enemy ships. it was truly a jarring note in an otherwise solid novel that had internally believabilit.
