This material has been used in connection with courses in the School of Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma. The first course in instrumentation is a junior level course with prerequisites of mathematics through calculus and ordinary differential equations and one year of calculus-based physics. The second course is first-year graduate level. The objective of the courses is to examine the physical principles of meteorological sensors, to develop static and dynamic performance concepts, and to explore the concepts of meteorological measurement systems. SI units are used throughout this text along with commonly accepted units such as °C for temperature and mb for pressure.
