Luxology modo 401 Mountain Bike Training | 3.13 Gb
Description:In Modeling a Mountain Bike in modo 401 Geoff Swartz covers techniques to help you leverage some of modo 401's modeling enhancements and shows how to model efficiently to cut down on repetitive tasks and unnecessary geometry. He covers the use of replicators, displacement textures and the use of third party scripts to enhance modo's toolset. With over 9.5 hours of video tutorials at 1240x720 resolution, Geoff takes you step-by-step through the process of modeling the mountain bike starting with nothing but some reference photos and ending with a highly detailed model.
Modeling a Mountain Bike in modo 401 includes over 9.5 hours of step-by-step instruction. Learn how to model for optimum poly count and make use of many of modo's tools to model faster.

Content:
1. modo Setup - 16 minutes
We go through customizing modo for this project using custom keyboard shortcuts and 3rd party scripts.
2. Replicator Items - 27 minutes
This chapter starts out with setting up background images and continues by creating mesh items that we will use as replicator items throughout the modeling process.
3. Main Frame - 39 minutes
We will begin modeling the bike by starting with the main frame including the front forks, shock absorbers and other pieces.
4. Wheels - 58 minutes
We continue the bike by modeling the wheels. Geoff illustrates how to model faster by using modos duplicate tools.
5. Handle Bars - 1 hour 18 minutes
This chapter focuses on modeling the handle bars using measurements in conjunction with modos measuring and symmetry tools.
6. Seat - 31 minutes
In this chapter we focus on creating the seat along with the rear reflector and seat locking mechanism.
7. Brake Assembly - 53 minutes
We create the brake assembly in this chapter and learn how to keep our poly count as low as possible without sacrificing quality.
8. Pedal Assembly (Part I) - 56 minutes
Geoff illustrates how to easily create the gears and gear cover for the pedal assembly. Again, low poly count is a focus.
9. Pedal Assembly (Part II) - 32 minutes
This chapter finishes the creation of the pedal assembly with the actual pedals themselves and connecting them to the frame. We use falloffs to easily create geometry that otherwise may be difficult to create.
10. Suspension - 25 minutes
In this chapter we focus on creating the center suspension including the suspension spring and we hook it up to the main frame.
11. Rear Derailleur - 50 minutes
As we create the rear derailleur we make use of tools like the curve extrude to create oddly shaped geometry and show how to easily create holes without booleans.
12. Center Derailleur - 36 minutes
The center derailleur contains many small parts so as we model it we have to decide what we need to model for detail and what isn't necessary.
13. Chains & Cables - 45 minutes
This chapter focuses on creating the brake and gear cables along with starting the chain.
14. More Replicators - 18 minutes
We will learn how to use replicators and a 3rd party script to create the chain and frame welds.
15. Modeling with Displacement - 12 minutes
In this chapter we finish modeling the bike by using images for displacement. This allows us to create geometry that would otherwise be very difficult to create.
