I was really pumped when I saw that James Swain had four "new" books available on Kindle. I downloaded them all. I say "new", as some of these were written in the past and are just now available on Kindle. I really needed my Tony Valentine fix. He is one of my favorite characters of all time. I'm reading Jackpot right now, I was up until 2 a.m. this morning, but didn't get it finished yet. Maybe tonight!
Jim Swain creates real characters and the situations and settings are very real. In fact, Jim Swain is the real deal! I've seen him in action with a deck of cards and it is something to behold.
I read "Wild Card" first, as it takes us back to when Tony was a cop. There is a lot of background there for Tony Valentine fans. "Jackpot" takes place later in Tony's life. I spent some time in Reno at conferences, and Jim Swain has brought the city back to life for me.
Highly recommended for all mystery fans.
