Each volume of the telecom series by Connor is packed with knowledge in a thin volume a little more than 100 pages. The "Noise" volume introduces the reader to noise from a statistical stand point. Johnson noise and shot noise in circuits are also dealt with. Noise figure, noise temperature, you name it; it's discussed in amazing brevity. The series should really be republished. In the mean time, worth picking them up second hand.
