Hiroyuki ODA (real name: Hiro Kanzaki) is a Trance/Progressive producer, and is known internationally to a lot of Trance music fans due to having his song “Transmigration” be named “Tune of the Week” on Armin van Buuren‘s radio show “A State of Trance“. What actually happened was that after Hiroyuki ODA posted his song on his website to share, Sevensenses recordings’ DJ Matsunaga heard it and asked him if he would play at his house. DJ Matsunaga then put Hiroyuki ODA’s song on a CD to give to Armin van Buuren while he was on tour in Japan, and that’s how van Buuren came into contact with Hiroyuki ODA’s works. Hiroyuki ODA, being one of the very few Japanese Trance producers at the time, became popular and armada music (van Buuren’s label) released Hiroyuki ODA’s tracks on a vinyl record and sold it on the web. A funny thing about the vinyl is that Hiroyuki ODA’s parents bought themselves a copy as they found it through searching his name on the internet.
Hiro Kanzaki also works as anime drawer/illustrator for the television.
Hiroyuki ODA – Biography
Hiroyuki ODA is a club music producer and animator. He has ever released many trance tunes from Sevensenses recordings. His work was recognized by Armin van Buuren and he is the first and only producer from Japan who has released track from A State Of Trance.
Hiroyuki was born in 1978, and he has started to produce music when he was 14 years old. Beside his day job as an animator, through several styles like big beat, hard house, from 2001 he focuses to produce trance music.
In 2005, he contracted to Sevensenses recordings and released a single “Trancemigration / Injection.” He showed a quality trance music from Japan and that was picked up by Armin van Buuren.
“Transmigration / Injection” is licenced to A State Of Trance. Moreover, Transmigration was appeared on a mix CD “A State Of Trance 2005? compiled by Armin van Buuren. Hiroyuki has done an incredible milestone that has not done by any artist from Japan ever.
After that, Hiroyuki has continuously released tracks from Sevensenses recordings. In 2007 he released the 2nd single from A State Of Trance named “Rise / Cataract.” In 2009 Hiroyuki’s track was picked up by Armin again. His track “Yozora” was supported by Armin van Buuren, Redstar and Daniel Kandi. “Yozora” was appeared on “A State Of Trance Radio Top 15 January 2010? and released from Armada Music.
In 2010, Hiroyuki moved to Otographic Music, and released his artist album “Thirty.” That had remarkable success and appeared #10 on Oricon independent CD album chart (one of the most representative CD chart in Japan), and #4 on iTunes dance album chart. He showed the quality of Japanese-made trance, and he generated a broad range of fans and successive generation of artists.
