Rating: 3 This is a pretty good book, all things considered. But the fact of the matter is that this book will only get you so far. You need to be able actually get out there and find these positions and books simply can't do that for you. Newspaper classifieds are OK, but in larger cities you need more up to date information than they can provide. It's usually best to get job postings directly from a businesses website. Or better yet, use some sort of portal service (there's a few out there, but in my experience the best is HelpdeskCrossing [helpdeskcrossing.com] because of the sheer quantity of jobs they post, and the obvious focus on this field). Basically, it takes job postings right from the company websites to make it easy to find jobs that are actually still available. And again, when on the job hunt, it's extremely important to be able to find and compare jobs fast before someone else lands the position you wanted. All that said, once again, this book is great for what it is and I'm happy I bought it. Summary: help desk job search Rating: 3 Book was nice but I really like using http://www.HelpDeskCrossing.com to look for jobs because it has jobs only from employer websites and far more jobs than you will find on other job boards. It is really easy to navigate, quick login process, great support, tech and customer and really full with job offerings that keep being updated on a minute to minute basis. Great design to. check it out you wont regret it :=) Summary: [...] Rating: 5 I love using HelpDeskCrossing to help me find jobs. [..] has jobs only from employer websites and far more jobs than you will find on other job boards. It is more legitimate than any other job search website I have ever used and I am counting my success at my great job every day! Summary: Helpdesk Helps Job Seekers! Rating: 3 This book is very helpful in giving you the information you need to succeed, however I like to use www.Helpdeskcrossing.com because it has positions available from direct employer websites instead of the job boards that this book suggests. I will say that their 100 secrets to success are not all 100% inspired, some of the things they suggest are pretty obvious ideas, but they have a great way of presenting them and keep you interested, which is not easy with such a non-exciting subject matter.
