A new book "Climbing plants, Epiphytes and Parasites Native Chile: A Field Guide," which aims to contribute to environmental education and dissemination of various native plants, whose selection criteria is to be associated with other plants during their development by providing mechanical support for vines and epiphytes, or as a guest in the case of parasitic plants.
This work incorporates a number of features on the various forms or patterns of development and growth of this unique group of native plants, followed by a section that delves into the traditional uses of these plants.
The main portion of the book consists of chips that include a botanical description for more than 100 species, with photographs that highlight aspects relevant to their recognition and distribution maps of each species made based on ecological niche modeling.
Se presenta el libro “Plantas Trepadoras, Epífitas y Parásitas Nativas de Chile: Guía de Campo”, que pretende contribuir a la educación ambiental y difusión de diversas plantas nativas, cuyo criterio de selección es el de asociarse a otras plantas durante su desarrollo, mediante facilitación de soporte mecánico para enredaderas y epífitas, o como huésped en el caso de plantas parásitas.
Esta obra incorpora una serie de particularidades sobre las diversas formas o hábitos de desarrollo y crecimiento de este singular grupo de plantas nativas, seguida de una sección que ahonda en los usos tradicionales de estas plantas.
La porción principal del libro, consta de fichas que incluyen una descripción botánica para más de 100 especies, con fotografías que destacan aspectos relevantes para su reconocimiento y mapas de distribución de cada especie realizados en base a modelamiento de nicho ecológico.
