The basic workflow for Topaz Adjust is to sequentially move from the left tab, Presets, to the right tab, Noise. Not every image will require every tab but it's still a good idea to go from left to right. The Noise algorithms are the slowest so you'll want to apply those last.
In the Presets tab here you may save your own presets or use the included presets as a starting point. I want to take this image into a more artistic direction, so I'll select the Dramatic preset. Topaz Adjust applies the preset which we can then tweak in the following tabs.
First, though, I'll go to the Noise tab and disable all noise reduction by dragging the Threshold to 0. This speeds up Topaz Adjust considerably. I will reapply the noise reduction at the end, right before I apply the effect.
Here in the exposure tab I can change different exposure settings. The main settings are adaptive exposure and Regions. After I'm happy with these, I'll continue by clicking the Details tab, which allows me to adjust the intensity of the details in the image. The function of each parameter is explained in the User's Manual, but the best way to find out what they do is to download the free trial and experiment for yourself. After I'm happy with these settings, I'll move to the Color tab.
Color gives unique control over the colors in an image, and also includes some convenient standard Saturation and Hue controls. This tab is where you can really make a photo pop off of the page.
Finally, in the noise tab we'll raise the Threshold level until the noise disappears. This is a top-of-the-line noise removal filter and has been favorably compared to dedicated noise reduction software such as Neat Image, Noise Ninja, and Noiseware.
