Cockayne pushes the small British relief force to the limit, and Hazard and his bluejackets face treachery from all sides as they learn firsthand just how cruel land-based warfare can be.
Summary: Gripping but sad story of the British losing India
Rating: 5
VA Stuart researched this historically accurate series very well. She being a military nurse had interesting observations about the peiod's lack of understanding about field sanitation and medical cleanliness. But Wait! The story is really about heroism, military tactics and moslem treachery. Perhaps a lesson for today.
Summary: rhk
Rating: 4
This is an intense, historical war drama, very well written. V.A.Stewart captures the tremendous hardship these regional conflicts impose on civilians and military alike. While not being overly graphic the reader is immersed on the battle field and is left to marvel at how he writer could recreate the past so vividly.
