At 5.15 p.m. Harvey Ellis was trapped – stranded in a line of eight cars by a blizzard on a Norfolk coast road. Three hours later, Harvey Ellis was dead – viciously stabbed at the wheel of his truck. And his killer has achieved the impossible: striking without being seen, and without leaving a single footprint in the snow…
For DI Peter Shaw and DS George Valentine it's only the start of an infuriating investigation. The crime scene is melting, the murderer has vanished, the witnesses are dropping like flies. And the body count is on the rise…
About The Author
Jim Kelly is a journalist. He lives with the biographer Midge Gillies and their young daughter. His first novel, The Water Clock, which also features Philip Dryden, was shortlisted for the CWA John Creasey Award 2002.
Author and freelance journalist Jim Kelly lives in Ely in Cambridgeshire and draws upon his surroundings when writing novels.
Last year Kelly was awarded the Dagger in the Library by the Crime Writers’ Association for producing a body of work greatly enjoyed by fans of the genre.
Kelly is a master of pacing and characterisation, painting in enough intriguing traits and history to make you feel as if you know his cast, and he also makes Cambridgeshire a character in its own right, giving the county a sense of unease that consistently holds the reader's attention.
