I have missed the Francesca Cahill series since it ended with the cliffhanger of Calder and Francesca's upcoming marriage. Deadly Vows opens with Francesca rushing off on her wedding day to intercept a stolen portrait that could embarrass her family and ruin her own social standing. It's not a spoiler to say she doesn't get to the church on time. Deadly Vows is an absolute gift to fans of the Cahill series. There is all the nail biting "Francesca what are you thinking" action of the other eight books. Francesca continues to have more perils than the famous Pauline and Rick is still trailing behind her with his woeful face on. Calder seems to have had enough of it all, which makes sense. Calder's had about enough of everything. Thankfully, by the end of Deadly Vows the will she or won't she, does she or doesn't she is resolved. Wrapping up the major plot points of the previous eight books but leaving more than enough material to move forward, Deadly Vows serves as either an introduction to the ongoing series or the end of the former. I really hope that this is just the beginning of many more books to come because I adore Francesca Cahill and her Perils Of Pauline life.
