Cassie has done it again! I literally just finished reading it, and I just feel like curling up into a ball and sobbing at both the ending and the fact that it is over. Her books are such a magical combination of fantastical, out of this world elements and happenings, and realistic, to-the-core human emotions that ground all of the heart stopping plot twists.
I don't, however, recommend this book for males who shy from a female's point of view describing the guy she's in love with. That's one of the elements that makes the book so great for me (female, 20), but might not be appealing to everyone else out there. However, if you think you can handle that, even if you aren't too excited about it, the plot and character developments are really worth it.
Outside of His Dark Materials, this is my favorite book series. It's one of those books that literally invades your mind for the three days following when you read it. An obsessive, close bond forms with the characters and you have a hard time coming to grasp with the fact that they are fictional. In my mind, that is the mark of a fabulous author, and Cassie most certainly is.
