Where Captured by a Rogue Lord falters is the middle third of the book. I went from being absolutely, one hundred percent in love with the story to becoming incredibly irritated by Serena's villainous stepmother and weak-willed stepsister. The two threw an obstacle in Serena and Alex's path that felt forced and the subplot went on for longer than I would have liked, dragging the book down. Luckily, Captured by a Rogue Lord picks right back up in the last third of the book, finishing the story as it began - in a thrilling, engaging fashion. Were it not for the middle third of the book, Captured by a Rogue Lord would be perfect. As it stands, Captured by a Rogue Lord is still an excellent read and I adored Serena and Alex so much that I will happily re-read their romance again and again and again.
