C+ + For Beginners. . . . . Masters The purpose of this book is to provide an introductory text for understanding the C++ language and to empower the reader to write C++ programs. The book also introduces reader to the paradigm of object oriented programming. The main strength and USP of this book is that it is written by a student for students but will be equally useful for intermediate level programmers, and software development professionals. The author is in the best position to identify and address issues and areas where a student needs maximum help in understanding the C++ concepts and developing programming skills. The book also covers text for a business-oriented C++ programming course. The examples and the several chapters at the end are devoted to data structures, database concepts including SQL, methodology to interface C++ programs with any database using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), basic windows graphics programming, overview of XML and Standard Template Library (STL). . About the Author(s): Ankit Asthana (born 1986) is currently pursuing Computer Engineering with Co-op in McMaster University, Canada and would graduate in 2008. He studied in Delhi Public School (DPS), R.K. Puram, New Delhi till 2004. He has been a scholar throughout, being in the Dean`s Honor List, and achieving other scholastic achievements consistently during his academic career. He was recently working for IBM, Toronto, Canada as a software developer/tester for ?WebSphere Application Server? and was involved in testing and creating J2EE applications over Solaris, AIX, Windows, Linux and HP Unix for WebSphere Application & Portal Server. He also leveraged automation frameworks such as STAF /STAX and Rational Application Function Tester to Automate Test execution. He also worked as a teaching assistant for Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University, for programming courses involving C, C++ and Visual C# for the past two years.
