To start, Tracy Madison's books always seem to be rated on the low side to me. I am a big fan of this series and I think all her books are well written and have a great mixture of romance, magic and fun! That being said, in the latest edition in the series Grandma Verda is out to find Scot's (the eldest brother) soulmate. I was a little worried before reading this book because it is not told from the perspective of a Raymond family member or relative. However, Julia Collins (whose perspective it is from) is a strong, prideful woman and definitely able to carry the storyline. In the book, Julia, who owns a matchmaking company, Introductions, is being put out of business by Grandma Verda's new company--Magical Matchups. In an attempt to save her business, Julia ventures to Magical Matchups and ends up not only meeting Verda, but being coerced into dating Scot (Verda's grandson) because Verda believes them to be soulmates. Neither Julia nor Scot are happy with this arrangement but due to different reasons decide to 'pretend' date until they can get Verda off their backs. In the meantime, Verda also gifts to Julia a magical journal which allows her to use Verda's writing magic. Although the story plays out similar to the two previous books, where the lovers are not sure if what they feel is due to magic or is real, the new characters and locations keep the book fast paced and addicting. In addition to the main storyline, Grandma Verda's odd behavior from the last book (well more odd than usual) is explained and an overall plot is revealed that ties previous and future books together. All in all, I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down and read it in one sitting! The story was interesting, face paced and left me feeling happy in the end. If you haven't already read the previous three books A Taste of Magic, A Stroke of Magic, and A Breath of Magic, although not necessary, I would highly recommend it for their stories alone!
