I thought this was a great book. Ms. Mclure whote this as a short story, and I think that she did a wonderful job explaining the plot and developing the characters. She did not bog the story down (with her limited word count) with too much detail and history. The only reasons she did not get 5 stars was because I would have liked the book to be a little longer, with more details and history. This story did not read as a prequal like some shorts do, but can stand alone and has plot resolution. As much as the Amazon book synopsis kept harping on the fact that she wanted to be sexually dominated... that was just a fantasy, and never really happened. I actually thought the sex scenes were no harsher than a Harlequin Blaze and definately wasn't "sexually depraved". I will be looking forward to reading her next novel and can't wait to see what else she writes.
