LONG DESCRIPTION:
Unfortunately the binaries in Masm32 is highly outdated, I have therefore added the very latest binaries from Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate.
MasmEd is a very good code editor for Microsoft Assembler. It has a integrated Resource editor as well. Use this tool for coding.
Resource Editor is, a resource editor. You only need this is you don't like to use the resource editor that comes with MasmEd (which seems to be the same resource editor)
Dependency Walker is a program to find out what .dll dependencies your applications have and is a very nice tool to have.
OpenedFilesView is a tool that you can use to check all open file handles and which process it was opened from. You can kill the process or even close the file handle from within this tool. Extremely useful.
The binaries you find in this package is completely different from the last edition of this torrent. Now you will only find what is related to assembly. Only the neccesary dependent dynamic link libraries is included.
Basic Principles is a folder that includes small text files that I have written. They explain some of the basic principles of assembly programming. Read through them and try to understand it.
Win32 Help files is a package of many help files, it has the old Win 32 Programmers Reference help file, Win sock help files and all kind of help files. It is important to understand that these files are old, you should use Windows SDK for help. But if you prefer the old format better, use it with caution.
Windows SDK v7.0 is the latest Software Development Kit from Microsoft and contains documentation, libraries, header files and code examples for coding the windows platform.
DirectX SDK is the latest SDK from Microsoft. Install this if you want to code DirectX applications and games. It contains full documentation, lots of tools and code examples.
Microsoft Calculator Plus is an extended version of the calculator that comes with Windows. Every assembly coder should have a good calculator at hand.
Neo Hex Editor is a fully freeware and very good and comfortable hex editor. You should be in posession of this fine tool.
Aritech Ascii table is a program you can use to look up the ascii table, a very useful tool for an assembly programmer.
Text-to-Binary/Hex converter converts normal ascii text to hex or binary, if you need to add string of data to your program, this is a nice tool to use.
I downloaded Microsoft Macro Assembler 8.0 x86 package just in case someone for some odd reason would want it. Don't use it, use the newest binaries from VS2010.
Many assembly e-books is added, optimization, intel & amd reference, windows gdi & directdraw, binary number systems, trigonometry and all sorts of e-books that will help you get on your way.
Try the sample games and programs that comes with this torrent. You will find classics like Boulder Dash, Pacman and Tetris. All written in pure assembly with full source code and executables.
Finally, if you are new to assembly coding, read through the Iczelions tutorials before you start coding and be sure to watch the video tutorials. Visit the urls you can find in the "Urls to visit.txt" file, alot of good web sites in there.
