This book reviews the state of the art as well as current research and recent advances in the use of MRI, ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), and nuclear and molecular imaging (MI) for the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA). The first section of the book focuses on the clinical state of the art, emphasizing methods that are currently available and in routine clinical use throughout the world; the second portion is forwardlooking and emphasizes new and experimental methods and imaging strategies, including cutting-edge molecular imaging research, which is the topic of the final chapter.
