Review Zach had to find Paula's heart craving. He was on the verge of losing his wife, the signing of divorce papers only seven days away. But what can he do in seven days? Especially when he hadn't tried to get her back for a whole year of separation. It was just that divorce sounded so final! Paula still loved him. Even she could admit that fact. It wasn't that she ever doubted Nick's love for her, but it was just too much. He didn't understand how tightly he was holding her. He didn't understand that sometimes you could just hold onto someone too closely. Zach convinces himself that he can fix everything. He decides to bite the bullet and see a fortune teller/psychic/ sunflower grower. All of his other attempts to make Paula see the impossibilities of this divorce had failed -- even that really hot shower on the day he received the papers. Of course, all the silly psychic could tell him was to search out Paula's craving. So he did. He takes Paula on a trip of excitement, memory, and passion. He plans all his attacks on her carefully -- even to the point of adding a camel to the oasis on the beach. The attacks were all hot, steamy, and incredibly fulfilling. Eventually Paula realizes that maybe there is something they could salvage. Maybe their love is strong enough to pull them through. Maybe they just need to talk. But Zach has already given up, letting her have the freedom that she has always craved. Their problems, as Paula finds out on day six, is lack of communication. Zach has told her plenty, but he has a serious problem with omission. He just doesn't tell her everything. She doesn't know about his rough childhood and his poor family life. She finds out that she just really doesn't know much at all about her husband. Paula has to convince Zach that what she truly craves is to know him and be a part of him without the confines and bars he always wanted to impose. Burning passions that scorch the pages....Sandra's pen is really smoking. Sunflowers tattoos, mega-sized cats, and VW convertibles make this a story to remember. The humor of it all is enough to leave you crying. Could the threat of divorce be actually tempting? Well, only if you're sure that it will heat things up the way it does between Zach and Paula. And boy do things heat up!Karen Ellington -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc.
