One complaint I have about this book is that I wish I could have gotten to know Royce a little better. He seemed to be pretty much the perfect guy. I feel like he needed to have some kind of flaw besides his "fear of commitment." However, he seemed like a good balance to Mary's personality. She is a bit high strung, while he was very laid back. I really really enjoyed his relationship with his brothers though. Their chemistry was very realistic and their camaraderie brought a touch of humor to the book.
I kind of liked the mystery in the book. It's was little hard for me to believe at first that the stepfather Cosmo and Rose's suitor traveled all the way to London to capture the sisters. However, when I learned of the deed the sisters were carrying that was worth quite a bit of money it made more sense. I thought that the mystery attacker brought an interesting element into the story and I had no idea that Mrs. Dalrymple was working with the stepfather!! That was a big surprise for me.
